Investor's Business Daily - Home prices in Britain and Wales rose just 3% in Dec. vs. a year earlier, said property consultant Hometrack. That's the smallest gain since June '06. Prices fell 0.3% vs. Nov., the most since Jan. '05. Homes are staying on the market for 8.3 weeks, the longest since the survey began in '01. The data are raising the prospects of further Bank of England rate cuts early next year.
