In the beautifully written memorial article about Bhai Didar Singh, it was noted that his voice was similar to that of K.L. Saigal.
This intrigued me and I checked. It is true! K.L. Saigal, considered the first Bollywood superstar, was a trained vocalist. I found this video of him -- his smoothness of voice and control of tempo is remarkably similar to the voice of Bhai Didar Singh.
Here it is. I will post more of these. They are worth it!
