Guru Arjan Dev ji speaks in a Raag of bliss and he says ki-aa ham jee-a jant baychaaray I am just poor - baychaaray, jee-a jant - creature; baran na saakah ayk romaa-ee - how can I describe even eyk romaa-ee one miniscule how of your virtue Waheguru. romaa-ee literally means hair. How can I even describe one tiny hazmus of your virtue? I donot have that capacity.
barahm mahays sidh mun indraa bay-ant thaakur tayree gat nahee paa-ee. Brahma, Mahesh, Shivaji - Brahma - who is fabled to be the creative , Mahesh - who is fabled to be the destroyer; Sidhas - who sit in Yoga postures; Mun - silent saints; Indra - who is said to be the king of the Heavens; even they, Guru Ji says Waheguru you are bay-ant -infinite. even those could not find-paa-ee your gut - find how great you are.
ki-aa kathee-ai kichh kathan na jaa-ee ki-aa means what can I; kathea-ai means describe. How can I describe you? kich kathan. means say something; what can I say to describe you? I cannot say anything. All I can say is this: jah jah daykhaa wherever I look tah rahi-aa samaa-ee in that place -tah ; rahi-aa samaa-ee I see you. rahaoo Pause and think about it.
jah mahaa bha-i-aan dookh jam sunee-ai In that place where there is most horrible, much lonelier places; dookh jam suneeai where I hear of the pain of having to encounter the jam, the messenger of death. tah - at that place, mayray prabh - O my Waheguru, sahaaee - only you are my support.
saran parioo I have taken sanctuary, your protection. charan gahay - I am holding on to the charan the lotus feet of you Waheguru. parabh gur naanak ka-o boojh bujhaa-ee The Lord has revealed this truth to Guru Nanak, has blessed Guru Nanak with this truth. Guru ji is telling us lets not speak about God, lets experience His existence, His blessings.
