Digital Trends - Text messaging costs have long been the bane of many a mobile caller: although many plans come with unlimited text messaging, many come with capped limits or charge (a nickel, a dime, even a quarter) for each text message sent or received. Because of this, text messaging has long been a cash cow for mobile operators: the messages cost almost nothing to handle, and have generated mammoth revenue since the 1990s.
