Investor's Business Daily - The assisted-living and retirement center operator agreed to buy Horizon Bay Realty, a privately owned operator of senior living communities. Fin'l terms weren't disclosed. Brookdale Senior Living expects to invest $47 mil in Horizon in the first year after the deal closes. It is also forming a joint venture with HCP , a REIT that owns and leases health care-related facilities, to manage certain communities. Brookdale fell 3.9%. HCP slid 2.9%.
